La Fogata - Thomasville: Authentic Mexican Cuisine with a Family-Friendly Atmosphere

Small portion sizes.This was $57 including a small bowl of cheese dip and a small plate of rice, beans and shredded salad. Food tasted good but just the small size compared to price would not make us a returning customer. Just the shrimp Veracruz meal was $17 with drink… And fajitas with drink was $17… That gives an idea of break down on the pricing.

Always serve good quality foods, excellent menu, just about always run into family or friends while there.

Food came out hot and was very good. Very reasonable lunch menu.

This is not a fancy Mexican restaurant, but I'm always happy with the experiences my family has here. The prices are reasonable, and the food is good. I particularly love the Alambres. This is a great restaurant for a big group and always accommodates us well when our crowd is large. The servers are always friendly and prompt. I highly recommend a visit.

One of the best places to eat in Thomasville! My family and I have been going for about 10 years and have never had a bad experience. The fact that they’re so consistent is plenty of reason to go but there’s also the food and the staff. It’s family owned and all of the staff are always very friendly and try to check on you often and refill drinks, chips, ask about the food, as well as not rush you to get out if you’re talking to friends or family. There’s almost always a fútbol game on the tv and usually music playing if there isn’t a game. There’s great natural light during the day and at night the lights inside aren’t blinding but plenty enough to see everything. The decorations are really nice and the artwork on the chairs and booths is really cool. Honestly, hands down some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. The salsa and queso for the corn tortilla chips is always great, food always comes out hot (be careful of hot plates but they let you know when they bring them out) and we’ve never had any issues with substitutions or asking to remove certain things like lettuce, tomatos, onions, etc, as well as adding things. Almost every order comes with rice, beans, and a salad. I’m a huge fan of their tacos and enchiladas with any meat combination. My mom usually just orders the next number down on the menu from the last thing she got and has loved everything (she’s finished the menu a few times). Also probably some of the best refried beans I’ve had as well. If you haven’t been to La Fogata and are passing through Thomasville I definitely recommend that you go!
